Located on the West Kowloon waterfront promenade, ‘Growing Up’ by New Office Works is the winning pavilion design in the first Hong Kong Young Architects & Designers Competition. This timber pavilion offers stunning harbour and sunset views as well as a space for leisure, relaxation and small-scale events. In April 2017, the West Kowloon Cultural District launched this new competition which invited local designers and architects in the early stages of their careers to design an iconic temporary pavilion for the Cultural District. The competition attracted an overwhelming response – with 320 submissions judged by an expert panel of local and international jurors.
