Hard to sum up this fabulous National Park in a few sentences. Stunning views, wonderful hikes, beautiful vistas, and fantastic camping. Make no mistake, it's busy...but don't let that fact preve… TheGambianRPCV的完整评论

We drove up 2 hours and then back, so we did not have a lot of time to see much of the park. It was beautiful in October, but the sun sets very early, so the 2 hour drive was not ideal. Stay closer… Indyinin的完整评论

If you go in mid April, make sure to pay to go to Cadillac Mt. Whatever time of year you go, bring a heavy/winter coat just in case. If it's 70 degrees before you leave to go up, it can be 50 degrees up top with 20 mile an hour winds. So it can be quite cool as it was for us. There's no food or bathrooms up at the top. Prepare accordingly. We brought subs up & pulled onto a pull off coming down, set out chairs & had a picnic. At the bottom exit of park, we found a Victorian House Restaurant, which had good food & a bathroom.
It says you need a car pass to go on the sunrise view on Cadillac Mtn., until Oct 22. We are going to be there from Oct 25 to 28th. Can we still go? Do we need a pass? Thanks

Do not know answer. Restriction are for high visitor times. 10/25 is probably considered low season
Family will be driving an RV up to Acadia next month and are staying at various campgrounds. I see that not many places offer RV parking, however NPS told me that there is 1 or 2 RV parking spots at Sand Beach. Can anyone confirm? It seems like Sand beach (for little beehive hikes, etc) and the Bass Head Harbor lighthouse are the hardest to park near from an RV. Getting there early isn't an issue, but just need to know where to go? Can anyone advise? Thanks!

When we were there last week the parking lot was full as was the back up lot and cars were lined up along the roadway as far as allowed. I noticed an RV or two parked along the road where we ended up, but am not sure where the actual RV designated spots are located. I imagine they are in the primary or main lot somewhere. We didn’t get there until maybe 2 in the afternoon and agree that earlier would have better chances of best parking.
Planning a trip to Acadia in August. Need suggestions for where to fly in to, and ideas for itinerary and lodging. It’s my husband and me, we like hiking, kayaking, biking etc. Not into huge crowded areas.
