Smell of poo had me retching. Brown foam on beach. Essentially a huge toilet bowl. Sewage plant needs to close and send sausage stew to nearby incinerator. Gerry S的完整评论

The dunes are absolutely amazing I go at least once or twice a week with my granddaughter & our dog. Today we went for a paddle, the tide was out & the beach was smelly, dirty & I made sure to shower… Karen C的完整评论

I love going to Dollymount Strand with friends for a swim in the sea or just a walk. It also has great views of Howth and surrounding areas. It also makes an ideal picnic spot and it’s easy to find. mcgtimo的完整评论

- From the Wooden Bridge (Clontarf) end: * literally just cross the road from the bridge to reach Kinara, which has for years offered a very interesting "eastern" menu. Its the place with a turbaned figure standing at the door :-) Some of the food is a little spicy (Pakistani is the leading theme) but the quality is all good, and service almost always excellent too. Some tables have a grand view. If you are OK with the broad area of Indian / Pakistani food, well worth a visit. * turn right from the bridge and walk a few minutes to reach The Bay, situated on a corner, with nice views of the lagoon and Bull Island. Decent food, not super-cheap, but I thought fair value for money, and it has collected the odd award. Very good on the health aspect, gluten-free, and so on. (both of the above can sometimes be a little tight on space between tables, but both are enjoyable seaside dining spots) * keep going for Wongs, below. * more a car trip, or maybe a 15 mins walk, the next good spot is at Clontarf Castle. The Castle is a Victorian replacement of something older but pretty atmospheric, and the last time I was there, maybe 3 years ago, food and service were excellent. - From the causeway from Raheny to the middle of the island: * less than 5 mins walk to the left, there is Wongs, a long-running Chinese operation, upstairs in a small retail terrace. Used to be a great local spot, and I gather it still has good days, but the place has certainly dated, and the last time I was there it was a bit so-so (fine at certain prices, but a little high for that). * Otherwise from the causeway, next stop is Raheny village centre, with several decent (if mostly a little compact) places, from Mint Cottage (Pakastani, very decent) and The Watermill (excellent pub dining) to quality fish-and-chips (Macari) and other pubs and more remote restaurants. I think all of the above must be on Tripadvisor.
