Have you got pictures of the P.S.Adelaide in a park in Echuca in the 60's I am eighty five years old,but I remember my children playing in it in that short period it was out of the water?

What beautiful memories, we will do our best to dig one up for you.
Hello, next winter we're planning to travel south to explore around the River Murray. One of the things at the top of our 'Bucket List' is to experience a Murray River cruise on an AUTHENTIC paddle steamer, i.e. still running a STEAM engine. Could you advise, please, which of the paddle steamers out of Echuca meet this criteria? We'd be looking at something like a half-day cruise, or maybe a whole day cruise, depending on costs. Many thanks for any advice you can give us. Rocket & Ally McRae, from Bribie Island in Qld.

The Pevensey is an authentic, wood fired, steam driven paddle steamer-with it’s original engine. The ride is only an hour though. Still a lovely experience. Port of Echuca is where the paddle boats depart from-it is in the town of Echuca-northern Victoria. Whilst I was there I also did a cruise on the Golburn River-Kingfisher Cruise-different type of cruise-more focused on bird life but so enjoyable.

Hi David, I visited with my mum, so we didn't need to watch out for small children. However, as we visited in school holidays, one of the staff ran a story-time session for young children. There were tables set up, with a follow up activity after the story. Maybe they run this on weekends too??? I hope this helps, Karen
are there short (1 hour or so) cruises on Sunday and what are departure times?

As above, the boat trip is about an hour - enough for us as we were doing it while the 'polar Vortex' was hammering Victoria. There were still a number of people on the boat, so its popular and it was a Tuesday. I would book ahead as suggested. They do seem to go every few hours, though the one we wanted (last one of the day at about 3.00) was cancelled as staff had rung in sick. I suspect that they run a couple of boats in the warmer months, and there did seem to be another company. But still, I get back to best advice, book early for the time you want.
