Is there any reason to strongly prefer the Ultimate Experience instead of the One Hour Mixed Experience? It seems like the only difference is length of time with the birds. I'm debating between purchasing the One Hour Mixed Experience vs. the Ultimate Experience. I'm erring on the side of saving money and purchasing the One Hour package.

Do you have to email or call the castle falconry staff directly to pay for the experience and book a date? Their website only seems to allow you to buy an open-ended gift voucher, but my husband and I are hesitant to buy a gift voucher without the guarantee of a specific date since the voucher is nonrefundable. Also, we are thinking of staying for lunch or tea before or after the falconry experience. We won't be able to change clothes because we will be staying in Edinburgh. Is there a dress code for the restaurants?

I took the bus from Edinburgh to Dalhousie. It was about a 25 minute bus ride, and a 15 minute walk from the bus stop and clearly marked from the main road. The castle called a taxi to take me to Rosslyn Chapel, and I took the bus back from there. It was really easy. The ladies at the ticket counter in Rosslyn can direct you to the bus stop right up the road. It was much easier than I feared. The Lothian bus website can give you step by step instructions.
