Hi, we are staying in this area, summer 2018, just wanted to ask if it's safe to swim from this beach? I note there are a few pebble beaches around the bay towards Sorrento? Someone mentioned pollution? Any tips for a good local restaurant? Thanks

I think there is probably still some pollution there but it is improving. I swam on several days with my cousin who is from Castellammare and we had no problems but were careful …
I think there is probably still some pollution there but it is improving. I swam on several days with my cousin who is from Castellammare and we had no problems but were careful not to swallow any water! It is one of the best beaches in the area and one of the only sandy ones. We paid 15 € a day each to use the pool and sun beds at the Miramare Hotel which is on the beach so you can swim in the sea as well and then shower by the pool which also has a pool bar. Just over the road is Mamma Mia's pizzeria which also does excellent sea food. For an amazing view of Vesuvius and the Gulf try Agriturismo Poggio Casasana which is perched on the hillside! Very reasonable prices as well.
