I suggest the Lockport cruise. With that all you have to do is sit on the boat and listen to the captain narrate what the history of the canal is. Our captain was awesome and very funny! He let our granddaughter sit at the wheel and let us take her picture after the cruise was over and everyone was off the boat. The underground boat ride entails a lot of work that might be harder for older people.
How cold is the cave? Do you have to wear a jacket ?

We went on a cool day and a light jacket was needed inside and out so it's hard to say. It is a cave and it's damp with a bit of dripping water so you might want a light jacket.
How long is the boat ride? Generally, how long do people spend here?
答:
The ride is fairly short. There's a lot of time spent on the history of the Erie Canal and, once in the cave, the blasting of the cave. Total is about 90 minutes or less.
