Is there a difference between Nauset Light Beach and Nauset Beach or are they the same beach? We always thought that the light house was right by Nauset Beach, but upon further investigation we discovered that the light house may actually be 30 minutes away from Nauset Beach on a different beach? A little bit confused over here, if anybody can please help :)

There is a difference between those two beaches. Nauset Light Beach is right beside the lighthouse. It's on the beautiful outer Cape between Orleans and Eastham. It also has the big "scarp" which is a mountain of sand which is formed by the erosion of the Cape by the wind & water. I like it best because the waves can be wildly crashing into shore or they can be very calm but steady. Nauset Light Beach also offers a nice staircase down the scarp to the water and also has nicer showers & facilities than other beaches. By contrast Nauset Beach is on what's called the inner Cape. It's a very flat beach but nice for children because it is calmer water and no mountain of sand to climb down to get to the ocean. Technically- they are all part of one Long Beach that outlines the entire Cape. But Nauset Light Beach is part of the protected, but well cared for, National Seashore. And yes they are a few miles apart.
