We will be stopping here on the way from Georgia to Asheville! Does anybody have any good suggestions where we could buy food for a picnic lunch? Possibly a good deli or takeout restaurant? It is my husband and I and our three-year-old! Thank you!

You can stop at Fusco’s on Dreher Shoals Road and pick up some things for your picnic. It is a deli OR you could stop at Publix i a shopping center beside Fusco’s on the way to park and buy picnic items. Down by the river is a good picnic spot. Enjoy!
Does anyone have any experience using a kayak here at the park? I bought an inflatable kayak, but am new to boating. I would be using the boat launch area that is on the side by the fishing pier and shed for boat rentals. Do boaters normally go upstream or downstream? Are there certain areas to stay away from that would have stronger currents? I am going alone, so any information would be helpful.
