We were there in October and it was delightful. Flagstaff is north and quite a bit higher than Phoenix, so they do have winter and not "killer heat" summer
How many hours would you say an average visit would be? I’m interested in the guided tours in addition to evening activities. Just sounds like a long day!

3 to 4 hours is plenty of time to see most. Many people go at night to view the stars & planets.
