哈姆是德国北莱茵-威斯特法伦州的一个非县辖城市，位于鲁尔区东北部的利珀河畔。 哈姆最早记载是在中世纪晚期，当时已是鲁尔区的大城镇。在十九世纪工业革命时，哈姆与其他鲁尔区城市一样，开始有煤和钢铁的生产。在1914年，连接对外的运河启用；而到了1938年，A2公路正式直达哈姆。 在二次大战期间，哈姆内城有60%被美、英为首的盟军炸毁。 随着煤炭的需求下降，哈姆与整个鲁尔区一样，煤炭业衰落，矿场、工厂大量关门。在1965年，A1公路直达哈姆。
