I guess this is the only night zoo in malaysia. Though it is not very big, but approximately an hour tram ride is good enough for a young children to see some animals, e.g. elephants, rhino, hippo, … garfield1996的完整评论

Afraid not Bradley. Tigers, black panthers, elephants, giraffes, lions, sun bear, crocs, otters, sloths, hippos, deer, flamingos and a rhino are what I can recall.

I went with children so just ensure they eat at certain spots and not open any food in sight of the monekys and you should be fine. If you are staying in Taiping for a night (the Lake Gardens are also quite worth a visit) then you can either take a bus or train. If you're coming for a day trip, a car would probably be the best option. I've driven many times and it takes about 100 minutes to reach Georgetown, Penang from Taiping zoo area. Penang traffic will add at least 30 minutes to an hour if you're coming from/going to Ferringhi. I would budget at least 5 hours for the roundtrip.

I previously bring the orphans from Taiping to visit there and if not mistaken, Zoo Taiping had waived the entrance fees for the Orphans and we who brought them in were only charge with minimum fees only. But you have to write to them in advance to request for the same.
