The two ladies are correct. No Big Five there. Jillian name most of the bigger game, however there are smaller antelope and our versions of "ground-hogs and squirrels", lizards, birds and others. However, we did not even go on the game drives, such an absolutely an amazing place it is to visit! As an indigenous Khoi-San lady at the resort wisely put it... "At Kagga Kamma you do soul searching, bond with your family / friends and spend quality quiet time!"
We arrive on the 12th of June. Please confirm our booking as well as reservations for chalets and dinner

As far as my knowledge goes, I am not aware of any area where fishing is available close to the resort. On your way to Kagga Kamma from Cape Town, there is a Trout Farm at the Du Toitskloof Resort just after you have passed through the tunnel where you can rent a rod and tackle to catch your own fish. I would advise to enquire directly from the Hotel if and when fishing is available. Happy fishing!

Being part of the "Koue Bokkeveld", visitors should expect extreme weather throughout the year. Hot to very hot during the day, cooling rapidly overnight to cold and even frost in the morning. Personally I find the early part of the year (Jan-April) to be more lenient with day temperatures and conducing pool-time. Do take sufficient suitable and comfortable clothing for protection against the sun and also for possible cold.
