The IMO Performance Standards permit National Maritime Safety Administrations to consider ECDIS as the legal equivalent to the charts required by regulation V/20 of the 1974 SOLAS Convention.

The product's approach to ECDIS, according to C-MAP, will be used as an exchange and processing format for all electronic charts slated for use by the ECDIS - regardless of their origin.
