The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality is poised to issue a permit giving the go-ahead for a company upstream to dump dangerous compounds into the Cape Fear River.

Cape Fear Riverwatch found that fish downstream from Lear’s textile plant had PFOS levels 20 times greater than what the state allows. This is all in the Northeast Cape Fear River in Kenansville.
