Army entered the game with a 10-2 record ... touchdowns on the way to a 63-7 rout of Bowling Green in the 2008 GMAC Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. The Golden Hurricane led 35-0 at halftime.

Bowling Green has played in the Mobile game three previous times, going 1-2 in games played at Ladd. The Falcons played in the 2004 and 2008 GMAC Bowls and the December 2015 GoDaddy Bowl.
