2011年12月24日 · Hi - I have a 2013 Kia Soul with the exact same problem noticed it with 365 miles on car. Dealer initialy replaced a fowler but car is making same noise. Dealer is saying this upper end ticking on cold starts is normal as soon as the car gets a few hundred miles on them.

2019年12月16日 · Have 2012 Soul +. Does this have timing belt or chain. I'm looking through the manual, and I cannot find any mention of servicing interval for timing belt. Google hasn't helped, but I did see one page (I cannot find now but was in my notes here) that for the 2.0 liter Soul the "beta" engine has a belt while the "nu" engine has a chain.

Took it to O'reillys to get the code read and I was told it was code p2096. I have an appointment soon with Kia but wanted to know more about what may possibly be going on before hand.

My son had the same problems with his 2012 KIA Soul and had numerous things replaced (two throttle bodies, the catalytic converter, the control module, plus more) and the problem still persists.
