6 天之前 · I've succeeded to netboot Mac OS 9.2.2 with the help of Netatalk and my Mikrotik router, after going through a handful of BSDP and original BOOTP tutorials I found in the WayBack Machine. All of them had extra steps and settings I did not need after all, so I trimmed those away yesterday, and now the setup doesn't look too overly complicated.

2024年11月10日 · I still have my PowerMac 8600/200 upstairs ready to dual-boot to some late System 9 version and some OS X version like maybe 10.2.7 Jaguar (and MacPlus in the basement) but AFAIR I have never booted it via USB, only via SCSI, DVD or (AFAIR via) Iomega ZIP drive. I don't know if it possible to create a bootable System 9 USB via a current Mac.

2006年12月9日 · None of the standard Apple Disk Copy versions that come with any version of OS 9 can open/mount such a file format. In order to use a .dmg disk image file in OS 9, Disk Copy 6.4 or later must be used. Not sure which of the other interior file formats, such as a .pkg one or a .pax.tz one, are usable in OS 9.

2005年10月25日 · I have Mac OS 9.2.2 and Mac OS X 10.4.2 installed on the same hard disks (single partition). I can boot from Mac OS X from all disks, but I can only only boot Mac OS 9.2.2 from small ones. In particular, I cannot boot Mac OS 9.2.2 from disks with 300, 400 or 500 GB.
