2009年9月22日 · I also felt that the 120 grain bullet weight was a reasonable jump up as I had used thie weight as well as the 115gn's in the .257 Weatherby and found it to kill equally as well as the .270 on deer sized game. Covered both areas from long range varmint hunting through to game hunting. JW

2019年4月23日 · I killed well over 100 deer with a 6mm Rem, using 100-grain Interlocks, some out to 400 yards. That rifle, using all-copper bullets, will kill deer and antelope as far as you can accurately shoot it. It is going to be expensive to shoot and hard on barrels, so it should be kept for hunting only, unless you feel rich! That is a great win!

2016年10月22日 · In my 240 Weatherby, I have found nothing better then the Nosler 95 grain Ballistic Tips. They are super accurate and deadly on deer. The 95 grain partition also worked well for me as did the 100 grain Sierra. I bought some 95 grain Bergers but haven't tried them yet because the ballistic tips are so deadly!

2024年7月7日 · I've also read that they're great deer killers, so I don't know. I've killed deer and hogs with 150 gr. NBT's in a .308 and use 180 gr. NBT's in my .300 Win Mag. In the Win Mag, head shot hogs have huge, gaping intake wounds, just about every time. So, with a 95 gr. bullet at 3,300 fps, I don't know if I trust the NBT on deer.

2024年11月18日 · The Weatherby Ultralight with the 6 lug action in 240 Weatherby is a nice carry rifle and the reports I hear are that they shoot well also. I loaded for one in a 9 lug lefthand action. Norma brass is expensive some of it developed case neck splits on the 1st and 2nd firings. It obviously had some issues in quality back then.

Wish I could "settle" your conflict about the 240 Weatherby vs.the 25/06 Remington - declaring one to be better than the other would be the riflery equivalent of blasphemy, IMO. My 240 Weatherby brass has good case life and I have not been in a bind to find enough to support my needs. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

2005年12月20日 · Now, I am the process of deciding on which loads to start to try for accuracy. It is a 24 year old MKV Jap Weatherby that looks nearly new with of all things a 24 inch barrel, not a 26. I am going to scope it with a 6.5 to 20 Ziess scope, I plan to use it for deer, antlelope, and possibly mule deer.

2023年1月10日 · My 240 wby is a trued Rem 700 stainless action, Shilen 26”, in a McMillan hunter stock. I can’t remember the twist, but it’s not a fast twist. I shoot 90 and 95 ballistic tips at deer and antelope and 70 ballistic tips at coyotes.
