Once you do that, make a stairway DOWN 52 levels (there should be 52 stairs). Then start mining in random non-geometric shapes. I found a vein of 5 diamonds doing this.

2012年7月28日 · Diamonds occur only at level 16 and below. the best place to mine is when you X co ord, when you hit F3, shows 11-12. Also, try either branch mining or finding a cave at the level. mining in a straight line can take a while to find lots of diamonds

I have yet to get more than a few (2-3) diamonds out of a known deposit (6-7 blocks) using TNT, no matter where I place the TNT in relation to the diamonds and what's between them (air, stone, gravel, etc). Redstone seems to be the most resistant to TNT, but other ores just seem to disappear.
