GM has issued several TSB’s suggesting that the dealer service department use the GM Fuel System Cleaner (made by Techron for GM) to resolve erratic fuel gauge readings. I have used it successfully in several of my GM vehicles.

I'm almost certain it's the sending unit in the tank but, before I do the swap, I'd like to test the gauge in the dash cluster. 2019年3月20日 — I recently bought an 07 malibu lt and the gas gauge didn't work. Figured it was a fuel level sensor, as I've read they tend to go bad in this model. The temp gauge then started to act up. Disconnected the battery to reset the ecm. Temp gauge is now working just fine.
