The modifier m of the symbology identifier shows if there was a FNC1 or not. If this is not done the application cannot see anymore if a GS1 Structure was intended or not.

The bit I don't understand is that it also says it requires a FNC1 delimiter. Surely if it is a fixed length field it won't require a delimiter after the data?
