Honestly, if you're going to tip, try to tip in cash. Door Dash's pay model is kind of strange. They have a guaranteed amount the driver gets per order (each order is different). They pay the driver $1 plus tip. If that doesn't meet the minimum for the order then door dash pays a little more to meet that minimum.

2023年6月21日 · Papa J's does that with their own delivery drivers as well. On the box it says, "delivery fee is not a tip." But the amount of the delivery fee a driver gets changes from store-to-store. Some places it's 1.50, some places 2$ while the delivery fee is on average $4.50.

2022年6月6日 · That’s not true. And I can show you pictures. Of that five dollar fee they’re charging for delivery fee drivers from DoorDash only gets $2.25 of it. I take major issue with this. I shouldn’t have to deliver for $2.25 when Pizza Hut is taking a five dollar cut for delivery.

Doordash for the same is $10.65. Only a $2.45 difference. And for me with the subscription, I don't pay a delivery fee, a service fee, and I get I believe 10% off of the actual taxes. So having the subscription pays for itself if for nothing else than using the app twice a month. Because most of the delivery fees are $4.99.

So you get all excited about ordering food and spend time to do so, then you find out there's a $5 delivery fee on $15 worth of food and it's like, no thanks. So deceptive and ridiculous.
