The 147 acre Edgewater Park is the westernmost park in Cleveland Metroparks Lakefront Reservation. Edgewater Park features 9000 feet of shoreline, dog and swim beaches, boat ramps, fishing pier, picnic areas and grills and a rentable pavilion. Ouch! Consists of 240 acres that includes Edgewater Beach, Perkins Beach, the Marina and Yacht Club.

Edgewater Beach is accessible from both the lower section of Edgewater Park as well as the Upper section. The 2400 foot beach features 1000 feet of swimming access. The westernmost portion of the beach is dog friendly.

The water was clean and beach is sandy. At the far west end, outside the fenced beach, you can let your dog off leash to enjoy the lake. It is a long walk from the parking lot and take something to sit on. I found the dogs were all friendly along with the people and look forward to returning.

Edgewater park is pretty big! On the east side you have the pier and the beach and on the west side you have the iconic Cleveland script sign with the skyline in the background. Beautiful grounds with plenty of places to set up a picnic or just let the kids play.

The 2,400-foot beach with 1,000 feet of swimming access is complemented by amenities that promise to make your day on the shore all the sweeter. Rent a cabana or beach chair, join a game of beach volleyball, or bring a kayak and head out onto Lake Erie.

While there are endless opportunities to explore, you can’t get to them all in one day.

Edgewater Beach is located in lower Edgewater Park just minutes from downtown Cleveland, between the Memorial Shoreway (Route 2) and Lake Erie.
