Why is everyone saying DW deserved to get punched by Arthur?
2021年11月15日 · In short, I commented that Arthur was wrong to hit his sister. Then later i too said DW deserved to get hit by Arthur. After I said that, I was told by someone he didn't agree Arthur deserved to be hit and he's right! When I commented on Arthur being wrong to hit DW, someone commented to me that I should watch the episode again.

And even then, it is from an incredibly one-sided view, as they only focus on Arthur's hit and not DW's invasion of his boundaries. Yeah, I think the point may have been to have kids feel empathy for Arthur and feel frustrated alongside him as DW ruins his days-long project at every turn – and then maybe feel like his actions were justified but then show them why hitting others, even when you're really upset at them for something they obviously did wrong, is in itself the wrong thing to do, too.

Arthur's friends also have a mysterious inability to understand context and thing that DW repeatedly disrespecting Arthur and breaking his stuff so he hits her out of anger is the same thing as walking up to someone minding their own business and hitting them.
