General Information and Care: Begonia prismatocarpa is a smaller growing species that grows extremely well in terrariums. This species can be grown both epiphytically or terrestrially, making it one of the more versatile species that Glass Box Tropicals offers.

Several species of Begonia fall into the category of the rhizomatous type including: Begonia bowerae, Begonia cleopatrae, Begonia manicata, Begonia masoniana, Begonia prismatocarpa, and Begonia versicolor. Their native origin ranges from Central America, West Africa, the Philippines, and China to Vietnam.

This miniature-sized Begonia is very easy to grow and is a great beginner’s plant for terrariums. It’s endemic to Cameroon, Africa, where it grows in a very warm and wet habitat. It needs very high humidity and a lot of moisture.

2017年10月15日 · This pretty little Begonia flowers almost constantly in the terrarium, and does perfectly fine in rather stagnant conditions. For years mine has been growing in somewhat flooded loamy substrate without any issues. It makes very nice ground cover and will form a mat over time. It occurs in Cameroon, the Ivory Coast, and Equatorial Guinea.
