2013年10月20日 · As best as I can tell, the Garmin 400 Series Trainer only works with Windows XP, not on any of the successors including Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. I'm a Windows 7 user. So, even on a PC running the just-replaced OS, I had to install a Virtual PC to run the three-back OS, Windows XP, in order to run the Garmin simulator.
Any way to get the Garmin 430 sim working in Windows 8?

2012年7月4日 · If people are looking for a non-WAAS 430/530 simulator, that's the one that doesn't seem to work, but that's a pretty minor difference - the WAAS added some good features (more than just the WAAS), but the 430/530W simulator will work just fine for people trying to learn the 430/530 (non-W). Basic menu structure and buttonology are the same.

2015年4月7日 · The Garmin simulator requires Windows XP. Apple has not supported dual booting XP for a long time. Virtual machine (e.g. Virtualbox) with Windows XP is the only practical option. Or OP could borrow/buy an Windows XP machine.

2014年5月12日 · Trainer - Common App Data - Garmin - GTN Trainer Data - DB and then copy the worldwide.bin file from there over the current worldwide.bin file in your 400/500 install directory. I first renamed the worldwide.bin in C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GNS400W-500W Trainer\Trainer to worldwide2007.bin to have it as a backup in case of an issue.

2015年11月28日 · Lots of good training stuff mentioned here, I'm sure. I have taught many 430 courses based on the Garmin sim. It is a great tool. For a beginner self-study I'd suggest first sitting down with the manual and going through it page by page, doing with the simulator what is shown on the page.
