2013年12月17日 · For sling types, I used the jungle patrol sling adapter kit in the early-mid 1990's, and sometimes used an M60 sling with my M16A2/M203. We never really had a good solution for a patrol or field sling. You can barely make out an M60 sling draped over my stock in this pic:

2011年10月27日 · The front sling adapter I actually still kind of like - it can be made less noisy with the liberal application of 100MPH tape. The rear sling mount, on the other hand is practically useless, because it slides up and down the buttstock and never stays in a stable position - it needs another "leg" to keep it properly in place.

2004年6月25日 · Lay the sling out so that each end coincides with the sling loops on the rifle. The center piece of the metal buckles should be facing up. Take the ends of the sling and run them through the sling loops from the outside to the inside. The run them under the center piece of the metal buckle so that they are between the sling and the center piece.

2022年1月13日 · My active duty span included the transition form M16A1 to M16A2. I wouldn't say there was any specific "correct" sling throughout. The OD cotton and OD nylon were present and common throughout. The black "silent" slings showed up very late in that span, so I would associate them with the A2 only.
