2016年9月17日 · After a few thousand or so rounds through the shield .45 lately. I can honestly say the XDS in .45 is better, hands down. At least from my experience. It's the only 1 I can shoot that comes even comes close to hanging with my shield .40. Shield .45 is a nice addition to the m&p family. Other then that, it's long past due.

2019年3月31日 · Then shot the Shield with 50 rounds of 180 grain. The felt recoil is definitely there compared to the much larger M&P9. But not difficult to manage at all. Accuracy at 5 yards is fine and on par with my smaller 9mm single stacks. But at 25 yards, the Shield 40 was not as good as my 9mm small pistols.

Sure, the overall size and weight aren't what you might call "significantly" different ... but they feel different enough in my hands to make me prefer the Shield 40, and wish they'd been available when I ordered my 40C ...

2023年11月29日 · M&P shield 40 to 357Sig I purchased an alpha wolf barrel in 357Sig for my shield 40 to see how it would function while shooting 357Sig rounds out of it. I found out yesterday that when I loaded my magazine with 357 Sig speer gold dot(53918) I obtained a jam because it failed to eject the spent case before trying to feed a new round.

2016年3月9日 · I own both, a Shield in 9mm and 40 S&W. I shoot them both very well and both are very accurate for me out to 10 yards. I carry the 9mm daily, and as soon as I find a SD load for the 40, I'll put that into rotation as well. I have several years training/experience with handguns, so I don't find the Shield 40 uncomfortable or hard to control/manage.

2006年8月27日 · I am now leaning hard towards the G27 over the Shield .40. I plan on using the extended grip for the g27. I think it is +2 or 3 in capacity. The 2 finger grip just isnt comfortable for me. I like the extended. But everyone seems to believe that the more tested reliability and better trigger of the g27 puts it way ahead of the shield .40.

2015年5月31日 · The 9 shield barrel works fine in the 40 shield slide. A few here were fortunate enough to get 9 barrels when smith was selling them. There are a few threads here with folks experience with the swap. All he would need are 9 mags.

2014年9月18日 · For those of us who were lucky enough to get the 9mm barrel. We bought the barrel back when the Shield was rarely found in the store. So back then it was cheaper and easier to just buy a 9mm barrel for the .40. The Shield was in demand and the prices were high. Iv seen a few Shield 9mm barrels sell on forums and maybe 1 or 2 on the ole GB.

2014年2月24日 · The Shield seems to me to have pretty adequate chamber support. This is how well the bullet fits into the chamber without a large portion of the casing being unsupported. There are some that think the Shield 40 is actually firing the round while the slide is slightly out of battery. Now that would be a serious design flaw.

2016年1月21日 · Actually, yeah u can convert the Shield 9mm to .40 with just by getting a Shield .40 barrel and trimming it down a little. A few members here have done this before. Here is my original post as far as the .40 to the .9mm. Look on the 2nd page post #65. Rob explains what needs to be done to the .40 barrel to make it fit into the 9mm slide.
