2014年8月7日 · So the vpn blocked the connection and i thought after disconnecting to the vpn and removing the VPN connection the torrents would start but they didn't.. the trackers status are all on ( connection timed out)... PS - i'm facing the same problem on two laptops both win7 - i downloaded multiple torrent files from different sites, still the same.

2007年7月23日 · I have had this trouble with many different vpn's. The truth is, there are no vpn's that are 100% reliable, especially when dealing with pptp. When your vpn pptp connection closes or fails, by default, windows uses your original connection, which we all know, is a disaster because it exposes your real IP address while you are downloading.

2010年4月16日 · The Gist: This script will monitor your VPN connection, if it detects it is no longer connected it will gracefully shutdown uTorrent (keeping all DL progress intact). Also, when the VPN is down, it will continue to try to re-establish a connection and upon successful re-connecting, it will then re-launch uTorrent to resume where it left off.

Also, when I look up on videos on how to use VPN with torrents, everything that the video shows seems to work so well, so I'm thinking that maybe it is a client side issue.

I still don't know why the %appdata% path didn't work right, since I used the browse button in the windows firewall program, but until I changed it to the exact path, it was letting me connect whether I was on the VPN or not.

2016年2月1日 · An alternative is not to stop uTorrent, but to block the traffic. Assuming you're on Windows, and your torrent machine is always connected to your local network (i.e. it's not a notebook that's sometimes connected to public networks), the simplest method is to set up firewall rules to block uTorrent from having any network access unless the VPN is active.
