2023年5月24日 · If the new AC needs a new circuit, there is no way for them to do that responsibly in an FPE panel. The old two-pole breakers are defective and the “new” Connecticut Electric aren’t any better. It would be irresponsible to add any breaker to an FPE panel, period. The panel must go. –

He has 2 issues: His panel is full; His electric furnace is an older 100a furnace. The 100a breaker in the panel is a double pole but it also over crowds the adjoining spot on the right rail.

2021年10月31日 · The existing location is in my hobby room and the panel is on the wall in a suitable location meeting all the requirements in NEC 110.26. There isn't any need for a much larger panel as this is a sub panel inside the house only serving lights, outlets etc.. all the heavy hitters are in the main service panel on the exterior of the house.

There is a pair of fuses inside each pullout, one pair are Bussmann and the other pair is unreadable due to weathering. Both circuits are protected upstream by appropriately sized breakers in a GE panel.

2018年2月12日 · Sub-panel in garage is max 200A, 40 breaker poles. Shutoff panel outside has a 200A main breaker and a single 20A branch circuit. Both panels are FPE Stab-Lok. I've added an image of the service entrance to illustrate where there was corrosion at the ground rod and service entrance RMC (both of which were recently disturbed).

2017年10月5日 · As I read your question which is better GFCI outlets or breakers. With this panel I would GFCI outlets for 2 reasons. First the reset will be in the location of the the appliance or device that caused the trip. 2nd I won't work on FPE panels except to replace them.

A FPE panel with stab-loc breakers from the 1970's is an automatic write up on my home inspections. There have been numerous advisories and warnings because of problems with this design. Primary problems stemmed from poor fitting breakers and possible corrosion issues.

2019年11月1日 · Is it a stablock FPE panel? Stablocks have bus’s issues and the breakers are notorious for not tripping. The only thing I will do to a stablock panel is replace it. Federal pacific panels have a high likelihood of causing a fire. –
