2021年11月12日 · We are one of four schools in the Groote Eylandt archipelago. Although our school primarily services the mining community of Alyangula, with students from other parts of Australia and around the world, a number of Anindilyakwa students from Groote Eylandt contribute to making us a culturally inclusive multicultural learning space.

Groote Eylandt is the largest island in the Gulf of Carpentaria and the fourth largest island in Australia. It was named by the explorer Abel Tasman in 1644 and is Dutch for "Large Island". It is the homeland of, and is owned by, the Anindilyakwa People.

The Groote Education Board (formally, Groote Eylandt Bickerton Island Primary College Aboriginal Corporation) has been established to fulfil the wishes of the Anindilyakwa people on all aspects of education from birth to age 25.

We also provide case management support for Alyangula Students to support their attendance, engagement and achievement. This includes helping parents manage enrolment processes, and in providing uniforms and school supplies to support learning.
