So just how do you focus the image on your Holga 120? If you look at the lens of the Holga, you’ll see some intriguing symbols around its edge. From left to right, from the vantage of a person holding the camera in front of them:

That’s how most Holga photos are taken, in square composition. Because each image is so large in terms of the film space it takes up, you get a mere 12 images when shooting in this mode. That is what sliding the arrow to point at the 12 means.

Once you load the film in and seal the Holga camera up, you’ll want to tape it up fairly quickly. Start with the left and right sides. Do a series of short tape strips down each side right over the metal slides that hold the back on.

What is the best Holga film to use in sunny weather? The easy answer for this question is that people tend to go with 100 ISO film for sun and higher numbers like 400 ISO for shade. A 100 ISO film is less sensitive to the bright light so it won’t get blown out to full white in that bright light.

2019年2月10日 · This is an in-camera double exposure that I created with my Holga film camera. Since the Holga is a wholly manual camera and does not auto-forward when you take a photo, it means you can take one photo of one thing, then a second photo of another thing, and the images will overlay on top of each other right on the film itself.

To take a photo with a Holga 120 medium format camera, you press down the shutter release on the right-hand side (when holding it) of the camera lens. All that does is open and close the shutter. The action does nothing else.

I actually like to carry three with me – one with color or black-and-white film, one with cross-processed film, and one with 35mm film.
