The RIDE customers can book on-demand service through MBTA partners Uber and Lyft.

Your fare for The RIDE is determined by the location of your destination and if you make changes to your reservation. Keep in mind, if you travel with a guest their fare will be deducted from your RIDE account.

THE RIDE provides door-to-door para-transit service to 58 cites and towns, in lift-equipped vehicles for eligible customers who cannot use subways, buses, or trains. Only registered THE RIDE customers may take advantage of the service.

We will call you the day of your trip to let you know your ride is on the way and if you should expect a traditional RIDE vehicle or one of our new provider's vehicles. We will continue to provide accessible vehicles, such as wheelchair accessible vehicles, as needed.

The RIDE Flex is a flexible, on-demand travel option for eligible RIDE customers. The RIDE is the MBTA’s paratransit service for people who can’t use the subway, bus, or trolley all or some of the time due to temporary or permanent disability. The RIDE Flex grew out of a pilot project and doesn’t replace The RIDE.

To ensure more reliable service for The RIDE’s customers, we have replaced the Routematch system. On November 1, 2021, we reverted to our previous software system, ADEPT, which allows us to provide superior service.
