Below are all six military bases in the state of Oklahoma. As far as military bases go, Tinker AFB and Fort Sill are pretty sizeable with a daily population of over 20,000 personnel each. The Marines and Navy don’t have any bases in OK.

Home to the Field Artillery Training Command, Fort Sill is located in Comanche County, Southwest Oklahoma, adjacent to the city of Lawton and 90 miles Southwest of Oklahoma City. All soldiers in Field Artillery receive skills training at Fort Sill.

Tinker AFB is located right in the middle of Oklahoma, close to Midwest City. It is among the military facilities of high importance due to the US Navy tenants and the multiple missions of the Department of Defense.

Training and preparing over 3000 pilots and maintenance technicians every year, Altus AFB is one of the most important military facilities established in Oklahoma. It is located only 6 km away from Altus, in the southwestern part of the state.

The McAlester Army Ammunition Plant is located in central Oklahoma at 34°49′36″N 95°55′26″W. The base is 14 miles south west of the city of McAlester, 102 miles directly south of Tulsa and 141 miles south east of Oklahoma City.

Located in the city of Enid in Oklahoma, Vance AFB is named in the memory of Leon Robert Vance Jr., who was awarded with the Medal of Honor for his missions in World War II. The military facility is operated by the US Air Force.

Lawton, Oklahoma Military Bases Fort Sill, OK merged with artillery units from Fort Bliss, TX in 2011 as an outcome of the 2005 BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure Commission), retaining the name and increasing their population by 10,000.
