2023年9月8日 · The new history of the Old Gym officially kicked off this past Saturday, September 2nd, as the Switzerland County High School volleyball team christened the renovation with a win over Clarksville High School.

The Old Gym is a historic building at Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania. [2] It currently houses a modern exercise facility featuring cardiovascular, resistance, and strength-training equipment.

With one leg in the past and the other leg in the future, the Old Gym symbolizes the crossroads where Midlothian stands today – a community rich in history and full of promise for the future. To make this dream come true, we need the support of the community – individuals, organizations, and businesses.

The Virginia Street Gym was first used for University athletics in 1945. Upon its completion, the new gym had seats for 3,500 spectators. What was long known as the "Old Gym" became the sole playing venue for the volleyball program in 1994 and now contains complete training facilities and renovated locker rooms.

While joyful in some ways, the fact that no more memories will be created in what was once perhaps the most popular spot in town suddenly become sad.
