Is there any info on Sukuna's markings? : r/Jujutsushi - Reddit
Some people have pointed out that, in ancient japan, criminals were marked with tattoos for their crimes. Arm tattoos would mean the person was a thief, while being marked on the face meant they were murderers. We don't have a confirmation but it's a safe guess because sukuna is rather ancient himself and gege loves historical references.
Sukuna and his markings/tattoos : r/Jujutsushi - Reddit
2023年12月16日 · Anyways. I know a lot of people say that his markings/tattoos are inspired by the criminal tattoos of the Edo period but that is two time periods after the Heian period where Sukuna was active. The Kofun period, some 200-500 years before, was when documentation of tattoos for criminals began so it's still a possibility.
Sukuna’s Markings, or Why You’re All Wrong : r/JuJutsuKaisen
Sukuna’s tattoos are visible. They’re visible to everybody. There’s this misconception going around that the tattoos are invisible, and only show up so that we the audience can know whether it’s Sukuna or the host that’s controlling the body. I was thinking that maybe it's an indication that they signify a change in something since they've had starkly different designs over the last couple dozen chapters.

Can others see Yuji's transformation? : r/JuJutsuKaisen - Reddit
2020年8月22日 · More than once, characters have questioned whether it was Sukuna or Yuji in control. But if they could see the black marks that appear on his body when Sukuna is in control, it would be pretty obvious.
The implications behind Sukuna’s “tattoos” : r/Jujutsufolk - Reddit
2023年11月3日 · So, if Sukuna had, say, smiley face painted on his back in the Heian era, that face shouldn’t be put onto the new host because the paint is paint, and not actually part of his own body. Furthermore, in the Gojo fight, we see Sukuna healing back the arm that was blasted off by hollow purple. But notice: the tattoos on his wrists heal back too!
for the people who say sukuna's marks isn't real here is jogo
2022年4月3日 · It was a really idiotic “theory” that someone made saying that the sukuna marks were like the demon slayer effects in that they weren’t real and it was just for the reader to tell who was who. They had exclusively very poor evidence, using a few panels where certain people had confusion over whether it was sukuna or yuuji that they saw.

2023年12月16日 · Lately I’ve been curious about the markings or tattoos on sukunas body/face, they seem to change whenever he reverts back to his original form vs whenever he is in control of a vessel. The mark on his forehead/nose disappears, the markings on his chest change as well and the markings on the arms change from being 2 bands to 1 whenever he ...
