2005年10月17日 · With a 12 volt test light, clamp it onto a positive battery post. Then you need to unplug each of the glow plugs. Touch the tip of the test light to the tip of each glow plug. If it lights, the glow plug is good. If it doesn't light, the glow plug is bad. If you have 2 or more bad glow plugs, the wait to start light may not come on.

Description - 1984 F-250 w/6.9 liter. New (6months) glow plug relay. Stock glow plugs on engine with 100K miles (they were decent) What happened - Started truck in colder weather (20F) ran truck for 10 miles and shut off truck. Re-started truck - I did not notice glow plug light stayed on!!!

This controller was known to fail in the open position thus leading to over-heated glow-plugs, leading to swelled glow plugs. Pretty plain factory truck.

2014年9月15日 · I would check and replace the glow plugs. Those systems do not work well when a couple of glow plugs go bad. Use motorcraft. I used to replace them every fall, as general maintenance. I would keep the good ones as spares. When I went to manually switched glow plugs, I can get 2-3 years now. Lots of info here, Good Luck
