2023年3月7日 · This was my first though also. My coach is gelcoat with decals and I used a 3M Eraser Wheel. Light pressure to keep the heat down and stripped off the decals I wanted gone very quickly with no damage to the gel. There was a pure white outline under the decal that was easy to follow when masking to replace the decal with paint.

2006年12月28日 · Goo-gone (a orange/citrus solvent) or other adhesive remover (3M also makes a good one) will remove residual glues. Lighter fluid, lacquer thinner, etc. are also effective glue & decal softeners, but lacquer thinner will soften fiberglass if it remains in contact too long. In any case, be prepared for a long slow job. _____

2017年8月20日 · I just removed a large decal from the back of a cargo trailer. The vinyl part came off easily using a hair dryer. The glue residue left behind was a different story. Tried-paint thinner, mineral spirits, denatured alcohol, bug and tar remover, acetone, Goof-Off. Nothing really worked until I tried gasoline.

My preference is 3M wheels. The no name low cost wheels worked but they seemed a little more heat sensitive and wore out faster. Take your time so the wheel doesn't overheat. Moderal drill speed and just enough pressure to remove off the decal. Let the wheel/drill do the work.

2015年3月30日 · Need to paint over old paint on MH and need to remove decal/stripe that runs all around rig. It is 8" combination of paint strips and cracking vinyl strip. Especially need to remove cracking vinyl strip. Have tried heat gun, WD40, Goo Gone, 3M 08984 adhesive remover, lacquer thinner, Rustoleum Decal Remover. Nothing has worked so far.

2011年6月29日 · Thanks - I'll definitely search that specific 3M remover now - much appreciated! We have identical replacement decals, so hopefully that will take care of any ghosting as well! What a royal pain to have to do all this, though! (And more incentive for me to get that Class A. Well, not really, but I'm still pushing for that long-term anyway, LOL!!)
