2022年10月28日 · That looks like an ANSI keyboard with a German layout (whereas German usually uses ISO), so it is missing an extra key beside the left shift where the brackets would be. If you switch the keyboard layout on the computer to US/American (which uses ANSI), the brackets would the be the two to the right of the letter "M".

But they're more comfortable and definitely make more sense on ISO boards. TLDR: If you want to use unconventional typing techniques to make your row-staggered keyboard more comfortable, you can't do better than ISO.

2018年12月4日 · I can't stand ANSI, primarily because of muscle memory with hitting the symbols etc. I used ANSI for a while mapped over to ISO, but as there's 1 fewer key, it made typing a pipe much harder. There's plenty of ISO layout mechanical keyboards. If you want to start moving towards the 60% market, then the options suddenly drop to almost nothing.

2021年10月28日 · Been through this before ;) If you just set a UK keyboard, weird things happen, like the ANSI backslash key does something else etc. US International leaves the keys ANSI keys alone, so it still works as an ANSI board as normal, but allows you to get your £ back, which is essentially the main reason English speaking British people hate ASNI..

I'm using an ANSI keyboard now. Here's the £ character. £££££. If you have a UK English layout set on Windows or Mac or whatever, then pressing Shift + 3 gives you £. Similarly, right alt + 4 gives you €, right alt + e gives you é, etc etc. It's really not an issue at all, and opens up a much wider range of keyboards and keycaps.
