Now throw in a few heat cycles, TIME, and the constant strain on the HG and you get a drop from 80 to say 75 ft lbs torque. If the stud feels tight when you reach the recommended torque specification then it is o.k.

2007年1月20日 · ARP bolts will eventually over stretch with repeated tightening and need to be replaced but since this is only your first removal, you will be fine. You should replace them after 6-7 head removals if you torque to manufacturers specs.

2006年1月27日 · For some reason I thought ARP used standard sockets. It seemed that 1/2 inch 12 points fit great for the lower end stuff (better than 13mm) and 9/16 (think that was the one) fit great for the head studs.

Be sure to liberally coat the exposed stud threads and washers with ARP assembly lube. This is essential for proper torque and preload on the studs. Start with the center head bolts are work your way to both ends of the head. The 6 extra long studs go in the place of the 6 outboard bolts that run along side of the head next to the exhaust manifold.

2004年11月22日 · Your stock 7 bolt head bolts are 12mm 12pt heads, 11mm diamater. 6 bolt head bolts are removed with a 10mm Allen head driver. 7 bolt ARP head studs are 13mm 12 pt. nuts, 11mm diamater studs. 6 Bolt ARP head studs are 14mm 12 pt nuts, 12mm diameter stud. You need a 12pt, 12mm socket to remove your OEM head bolts.
