Aquatic Park Historic District is a National Historic Landmark and building complex on the San Francisco Bay waterfront within San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. The district includes a beach, bathhouse, municipal pier, restrooms, concessions stand, stadia, and two speaker towers.

Today, Aquatic Park - also known as San Francisco Maritime National Historical District - is a national park that serves tourists who stop by San Francisco’s adjacent Fisherman’s Wharf and Ghirardelli Square, and it also functions as a treasured local park for city residents.

The Aquatic Park Pier (curve pier near Maritime Museum) offers the best views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alacatraz Island, Ghirardelli Square, Coit Tower and the Bay. You walk way out into the water, so views are unobstructed. Parking was free near Van Ness Ave. and it's just a short walk to the pier, beach access and the square or museum.

The San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park was originally the San Francisco Aquatic Park, created by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in 1936-1939. The 32 acre park included a lagoon and a bathhouse.

Aquatic Park has a picturesque setting on the San Francisco waterfront, with a lagoon and beach protected by the arc shaped arm of the Municipal Pier. Relax on the sandy beach, or look out at the 1,400 foot Municipal Pier.
