avalanche diodes in automotive alternators - Electric power
2003年8月19日 · The avalanche function essentially causes any voltage over the Zener voltage to breakdown the diode into conducting constantly in the reverse or normally blocking direction. So the output won't exceed 29V or the normally forward conducting diode would start conducting in the reverse direction also.
Simple alternator control by zener diode 1 - Eng-Tips
2003年2月11日 · Hi, British motorbikes of the 1960s were fitted with a simple two-wire stator alternator, consisting of six poles wired in series, with a permanent magnet rotor inside. Voltage control was a zener diode in parallel with the battery and bridge rectifier output. I wish to know what happens to the...
zener and avalanche diodes-change in characteristics with …
2013年12月31日 · The avalanche breakdown is due to minority carriers accelerated enough to create ionization in the crystal lattice, producing more carriers which in turn create more ionization. Thus the Zener effect is due to tunneling of electrons and the avalanche effect is due to ionization of the carriers due to the high voltage gradient across the junction.
Fast Snubber for Solenoid Valve | Electronics Forum (Circuits, …
2011年10月8日 · An inverse diode is absolutely the worst way to do it if speed of release is important. It clamps the turn off voltage to only 0.6 volts and extends the release time hugely. That is the purpose of snubber circuits, they allow the voltage to pulse much higher than the operating voltage to speed up release.
Kemppi Mastertig 3500 burned diode - Electronics Forum (Circuits ...
2015年4月26日 · After inspecting the unit I could see that a wire going to a diode was burned off, so I think I need to just swap this diode. **broken link removed** The diode is marked with 9750144. Google didnt show any results for this. Talked to Kemppi service and they said they no longer manufacture these diodes, so they could not help me.
1N4148 as a flyback diode on a small 5v relay?
2009年4月27日 · The diode current at turnoff is the same as the current when on, as Mike said above. This current through the diode has the effect of continuing the relay magnetic field until the current finally drops to zero. The effect is a slow release of the relay. In some circumstances this can cause arcing of the contacts as they are pulled apart too slowly.
Is Bipoler designed to withstand negative voltage and current?
2012年3月4日 · It should be obvious that a transistor connected with backwards polarity works very poorly when the voltage is low enough to avoid avalanche breakdown. If its current gain is normally 200 then it is about 5 when connected backwards. A Mosfet has a "body diode" as part of its structure that conducts when its drain-source voltage is backwards.
How to make a simple oscillator with transistor and Capacitor?
2018年8月6日 · There is an oscillator that uses the reverse-biased emitter-base of a transistor that has avalanche breakdown like a Zener diode (the original schematic in this thread has a Zener diode). Replace the LED with a speaker to hear it. Change the value of the capacitor to change the frequency. It will not work if the battery voltage is too low.
dv/dt for a MOSFET | Electronics Forum (Circuits, Projects and ...
2010年1月28日 · dv/dt Peak diode recovery voltage slope is related to diode reverse recovery, i.e. the diode is already conducting when the dv/dt is applied dv/dt Drain-source voltage slope may be related to Unclamped Inductive Switching, i.e. the mosfet is already conducting when the dv/dt is "applied". But I'm not sure about this because a condition is Id ...

2017年10月29日 · hello guys , Here is the situation, I am working on a 90 watts , 1050 mA , 72 V flyback based constant current smps which is used for outdoor LED lights, Mosfet used 12A 800V O/P diode used - Average forward current 8 A , Peak revers voltage 400V In this design diode and Mosfet are getting...
