2014年9月9日 · This is a double barrel stove from one of the great old time companies, Sozt. I had one of these 30 years ago, what a great stove. One barrel was rated at 150,000 btu, and with the second barrel on top rated at 250,000 btu. I believe these numbers were accurate because the Sotz double drum stove really cranked out the heat!

2014年9月22日 · The barrel holds X amount of air, as the chimney draws the flue gases etc. out, the air will be replenished through the air intake in the door. That's how it suppose to work. Also another thing I found useful is I laid some sand in the bottom of the barrel, enough so it was about 9" wide at the bottom.

2022年7月21日 · The stove shown needs 36" clearance from unshielded combustibles (wood). This can be reduced to 12" with a proper ventilated wall shield on 1" spacers that is 1" off the floor and open top and bottom so that air can freely convect behind it.

2011年12月28日 · The wood is the same except in the house it is split and in the barrel stove it has been whole rounds and a little split but not much so that could be the issue for sure. The smaller door on the bottom of the big door has 2 air intakes.

2010年2月7日 · The all time bad ass wood stove for 200 bucks, plus you have a bunch of extra parts. I now have a real pretty modern, EPA approved Waterford wood stove, made in Ireland. Cost $1,300 in 1998. Glass doors so you can see the fire. I like this stove. It is beautiful. Has a little Irish castle cast into the iron side.

2012年12月30日 · The main issue with a barrel stove is safety. Even in the video there appear to be some combustible trim less than 36" from the stove. We'll have to hope there is micore behind the stone veneer because it does not look ventilated. In a shop area a properly setup, vented and safely installed barrel stove should be fine.

2024年11月29日 · Maybe they took a stab at stoves in the 1970s in addition to their barrel kits? The back section looks like an oven. I suspect it gets fairly hot back there and there may be a passage all around the oven box for the flue gases to travel. That would keep the oven temp more even. This looks like a wood stove. Is there an air intake on the stove door?
