2020年7月2日 · This article introduces the Bedside Mobility Assessment Tool 2.0 (BMAT 2.0), revised from BMAT 1.0, which was created to identify patient mobility function deficits and guide the healthcare team in selecting equipment to safely handle and mobilize patients.
BMAT (Bedside Mobility Assessment Tool) | Duke OESO
The BMAT is a tool designed for nurses to assess patient mobility in acute care. The BMAT allows nurses (and other healthcare workers) to determine the appropriate patient handling and mobility equipment or device to safely move or mobilize the patient.
This article introduces the Bedside Mobility Assessment Tool 2.0 (BMAT 2.0), revised from BMAT 1.0, which was created to identify pa-tient mobility function deficits and guide the healthcare team in selecting equipment to safe-ly handle and mobilize patients.
Safe Mode: Use sling and lift to assist to side of bed or complete in bed with HOB raised and patient leaning forward or with bed in chair mode. Able to follow commands and sit unsupported (by sling or surface) for up to 1 minute.
Mobility Level 1 – Bedfast/Dependent • Initiate falls bundle, if indicated • ICU: consider PT/OT consult for RASS score -2 to +2 • Use equipment for repositioning in bed • Use chair position in bed or sit in chair for meals and/or ADLs • Use equipment for transfers OOB • Initiate Level 1 ROM exercises*
MOBILITY LEVEL 1 Assessment Level 2- PASS= Stretch and Point 1. With patient in seated position at the side of the bed, have patient place both feet on the floor (or stool) with knees no higher than hips. 2. Ask patient to stretch one leg and straighten the knee, then bend the ankle/flex and point the toes. If appropriate, repeat with the other leg
