2009年6月22日 · it doesn't look any worse than a CAE, Bogner or Soldano preamp. very clean, fine layout, apparently mostly epcos capacitors. just a shitty external appearance/finish. a Bogner made one wouldn't cost over extra US$150 on supposedly better parts and the job seems pretty well done it doesn't sound like a Fish for 2 obvious reasons:

2011年6月9日 · Ya know, that Bogner chew and smoothness, but with a bit more "kerrang". Would the Fish get me there? I really like what I'm hearing in the TM demo, but how much of that is the VHT 2150? I would probably be using a Mesa 50 watt PA if I buy a Fish. Is the tone of the Fish a lot thinner than a 101B? It seems a bit thin in some clips.

2009年2月23日 · That said, I would definitely use an XTC as a back-up or gigging head for my Fish but the ability to use a power amp like a VHT 2150/2100/2902/2502 makes the Fish superior. Bogner is a god amongst men when it comes to building amps but Fryette's power amps will dominate for a long time.

2006年12月7日 · IIRC, over the years, he's used modded and unmodded Marshalls, the Fish, Bogner Shiva and Ecstasy, Dual Recto, SLO, 5150, and I've heard he's used AC30s and Twin Reverbs as well. His live AIC rig is Fish into 2:90, with Marshall or Bogner Greenback-loaded cabs. He does have great tone live.

I find the use of the fuzzy sounds in my music beautifull. Is the fish li'ke this? I am familiar with the bogner sound as feel. I have never experianced it as an amp.

2010年4月12日 · I found the fish to be stiffer/tighter (no doubt the separate power section, etc.) It was almost like adding a little Diezel VH4 tone to a Bogner. The 100B head alone was more open sounding. The high end of the fish had really, really nice sweetness and shimmer to it, and it had maybe more high bass, and less low bass than the head.

2006年12月10日 · Trace (I think) said he mods the hafler triple giant to fish specs. That said, he must have the schematic for the fish. Not sure someone in his business should be sharing it though. (besides, the fish pales in comparison to the XTC's preamp). No idea about shiva mods. I hear the newer shiva's have a bit more gain on tap though. -W
