1999年3月5日 · Years ago I wire wrapped a couple of cracked handles with good success. I used copper wire, maybe 12 or 14 guage -- can't remember -- and the handles turned out quite nice. Anybody else have stories to tell about success or failure with wire wrap?

2020年7月30日 · I've got some 22 and 24 gauge bronze from rio grande on the way as well as some low-carbon steel wire from McMaster-Carr (0.029", 0.023", and 0.018" diameter). We'll see where that gets me, and what I can go with it.

2006年1月27日 · One has steel wire wrap and the other has Brass wrap. They are made properly and are quite comfortable in use and not heavy nor ill-balanced. The wire wrap can actually help the balance out if you are trying to get more weight in the blade, and make the knife more neutral, as in a dagger for fighting, or a well balanced sword.

1999年10月26日 · It might sound odd wrapping the handle of a fancy knife with copper wire but this stuff looks so neat. It's almost translucent. I took a set of speakers apart and they had laquered windings in them. It even glistens when turned to the light in the right way.

2020年5月4日 · I've done wire wrapped handles before, but this jig, and the toothpick trick he uses makes it SO much easier. The brilliant thing with this jig is the little ratchet wrench you mount on it which only lets the handle turn one way, so you can keep tension on the wires easily.
