Planning your first cabinet: 1.Press the New job button and enter a name for the job. 2.Choose a type of cabinet from the menus at the top of the main window. I'll use a 1 Opening upper for this demonstration. 3.A cabinet editing window will open. 4.Fill in the width and make any other changes you want. Click the OK button at the top of the window.

Scribe left and scribe right is the amount that you want the face frame to overhang on that side of the cabinet. If you leave these fields blank, you will see an 'F' ( for finished ) on the corresponding bottom corner of the drawing. Entering a value in these fields will adjust the cabinet box sizes so that the face frame overhangs.

In the shop plan below we see that this cabinet needs two 11” x 30” sides and two 11” x 13 1/4” top & bottoms. This cabinet is setup for using dados, if we were using butt joints the top & bottom would be 12 1/2” long.

The drawers for this base cabinet call for two sides 4” x 22”, two fronts and backs 4” x 8 1/2” and a bottom that is 8 1/2” x 21 1/2”.
