They typically have a larger objective lens which means better, more forgiving eyebox, larger exit pupil, higher top end power and better low light performance. Team a scope like that with an offset or piggyback small red dot. Maybe something like this.

2020年2月29日 · I’ve never understood the reasoning behind putting an offset micro reflex/red dot with a 1-x setup. Why not put a 2-10/12x scope to get that extra top end mag with the offset micro reflex? MS556 setup would have more practical use then your 1-6x with a reflex IMO.

2021年12月11日 · Jack of all trades, master of none. Get a real scope, and a piggyback red dot. There is absolutely zero point to get a scope that is a 1x-4/6/8/10. The 1x is garbage compared to a red dot. Why bother. I could see if you really don’t/can’t run a red dot in conjunction with it. But if you are get areal scope, run the red dot, and call it a day.

2022年4月26日 · It does add some weight, as the mount and usually a riser (depending on the model of red dot), but its minimal. Note: this particular rail has 45 degree rail slots, which makes mounting easy. Many rails do, some don't. I do like using mini-reflex red dots for this type of secondary sight, as they are smaller, slimmer and lighter in weight.

2010年10月25日 · I have seen scoped AR rifles with a small red dot on a canted mount. The rifle I looked at used a Doctor red dot. Is there anything that is quality that is maybe half that price? $400 is a bit on the high side for this rifle build. thanks for the input.

2022年11月27日 · Moving it to the top became faster for me getting on target because I wasn’t coming up and then rotating the rifle to find the dot. I just brought the rifle up as usual but didn’t drop my head. And moving on a 45deg mount sucks. You are hunched instead of heads up with an oddly canted rifle.-Mike

2019年3月1日 · 1) If zeroing BUIS, remove red dot and zero BUIS. 2) Install red dot. Degrease, align, and torque properly. 3) Zero red dot, keeping the dot exactly in the center of the tube by adjusting your head. If the dot is not centered it'll be wrong due to parallax.
