A 1974 truck engine would have a 3 letter suffix code, starting with T. Such as TAA. A 1974 car engine would also have a 3 letter suffix, starting with C, such as CCA.

2005年5月2日 · believe it or not, there's an article about hopping up 6 cyl chevies in Hot Rod this month! it has all the info you need. but if you can't wait, the stroke on a 230 is 3.25, the stroke on a 250 is 3.53 I keep several old thick Chilton's manuals around to look up this stuff, you might see if you can score some at a used bookstore or swap meet.

2015年2月25日 · My model A hotrod has an inline chevy 6 with Offenhauser 3x1 carbs. However, I cannot ID this engine. Any experts out there that can help ? Casting # is 93406003. # on pad by distributor is CE 9N 00930. The best I could do was the casting # most closely matches a 292. I cannot find this decoded.

2005年2月20日 · This was a first for the Chevy and GMC sixes. As Kustm52 pointed out, any 235 from 55-62 is a good one, same goes for the 261, which only came with solid lifters. The head with the casting number ending with 848 is the best one to use with either block; it has the smallest combustion chamber.

2007年5月23日 · It will have 9 characters, the first three are the interesting ones, the last 6 will match the last 6 digits of the VIN that the engine was originally installed in. If you are looking at a car that claims to be "number matching", what that means is that the 6 numbers on the block match the 6 numbers on the car's VIN plate.

The same casting number was used on lots of cars and trucks for many years. Pontiac, Olds, Buick, GMC, Chevy, and Checker all used the basic Chevrolet inline engine.
